Tłumaczenia pisemne
Tłumaczenie pisemne to interpretacja znaczenia tekstu napisanego w języku źródłowym i stworzenie odpowiednika przekazującego to samo znaczenie w języku docelowym. Sztuka przekładu polega na przekazywaniu zawartości myślowej tekstu na inny język, a nie na tłumaczeniu pojedynczych słów. Dlatego też, by zostać tłumaczem, nie wystarczy znać tylko język – sztuka tłumaczenia jest znacznie bardziej skomplikowana i wymaga wieloletniego treningu i talentu.
Nie jest sztuką coś przetłumaczyć, sztuką jest zrobić to dobrze. Są rodzaje tłumaczeń, z którymi mogą sobie poradzić tylko specjaliści z danej dziedziny. Ale są też proste tłumaczenia powierzone niewłaściwym osobom:
